The 2009 Your Wedding Exhibition (YWE) was the biggest wedding exhibition ever held in Aberdeen, both in terms of the number of exhibitors and visitors. Over the weekend of 17/18th January over 3000 visitors came through the doors to benefit from the over 160 businesses showing their wares.
Triple Crown

There were three “GWD” winners in the 2008 Voted Outstanding Wedding Supplier (VOWS) awards. Avorio Bridal was voted Best Bridal Retailer for the second year running, Slanj won the Groomswear category and Crafty Cards the Wedding Stationery. VOWS were set up to recognise an exceptional level of service and companies are nominated and voted for by their clients. Other Grampian businesses nominated for the 2008 awards were Brides Delight, Deeside Cuisine, John Park Jewellers, Elite Promotions, Nicholas Frost Photography and Ewan Kirkpatrick at Drumtochty Castle
Film Star

In the Institute of Videography (IOV) awards, Mark Stuart Wedding Films was awarded the Highly Commended place in the Wedding category against extremely tough competition. This award is Mark’s seventh IOV award and sixth successive year to be ranked amongst the top 5 in Europe for his wedding films. Mark Stuart’s entry this year, Lynne and Kevin’s Wedding Day Film, was one of only five short-listed titles within the Wedding category – which is a significant achievement in itself. Judges were not only looking for exceptional video production standards, but also originality and creative flair which demonstrate the value to customers of commissioning a professional videographer.
New for You

For something a bit different, what about a spit roast to both feed and entertain your wedding guests? Professional butcher Paul Smith offers spit roasts suitable for large or small weddings; you can choose between a whole hog, a rack of lamb or beef, really whatever you want. Aristocars have added a third Buick to their range of classic cars so can easily cater for the whole wedding party.
