Just as your wedding day begins a new chapter in your life, it also ends an era – that of carefree singledom! Most couples use this as a great excuse for a party with their same-sex friends. Long gone are the days when the hens would have a quiet night swapping tips on how to be a good wife and the stags had a quiet drink, pondering past good times. Now, the emphasis is on fun – and there are plenty of ways to find it.
If you’d like a big night out, Aberdeen city and shire have lots of great pubs, clubs and venues to choose from. You could start the evening with dinner at one of the many restaurants, and if you’d like to have your whole evening in one location, you will find that several venues can provide food, drinks and dancing. To mark the evening as special, why not order some hen night novelties: L-plates are just the beginning!
It has become the norm recently to extend the hen or stag party to a whole day, weekend or even week. Obviously a longer spell will allow a further-flung destination, and many groups take off for the sun, often taking advantage of the group discounts available for package holidays.
Whether you are home or away, you might like to arrange an active break. The Grampian area has several activity centres offering off-road driving, clay-pigeon shooting and archery. Many of these venues have catering facilities, a bar, and sometimes even a bus for the homeward journey.
