Put it in Writing
No matter what size your wedding is, a very important part of your planning is inviting your guests. As with many other areas of wedding planning, you will find that wedding stationery has recently enjoyed something of a make-over, and the choice is now vast.
Unless you already have a definite idea of what you want, you can begin your search by looking at as many styles as possible. You will find examples here in the Grampian Wedding Directory, on websites, and at wedding exhibitions, where you have the advantage of really getting the look and the feel of the invitations.
If you find the choice overwhelming (and you may well do!), you can start to narrow down your search by considering how formal or otherwise your celebrations will be. If your day is to be fairly traditional, then a good quality, formal invitation is most appropriate. This will usually consist of stiff white card with flowing copperplate lettering, printed to your requirements. If, however, you are taking a more relaxed approach, and particularly if you have decided on a theme for your wedding, you will want this reflected in your invitations. For you, the world is your oyster!
Some brides see their wedding invitations as an opportunity to further personalise their wedding and to show off their creative flair. There are companies who can help you with this process by selling you the component parts, such as the paper/card, rubber stamps, ribbon, embossing pad and powder. You can even buy the paper ....
