In September of 2009, Shaikha Anderson changed the name of her company from Bonnie Balloons to Bonnie Events and is now a one-stop-decorative-shop housed in a new showroom opened earlier this year. Anderson’s savvy suggestions for 2010 involve towering centrepieces with delicate ostrich feathers, brooch-accented chair covers and shabby-chic rose pinks. “There’s almost a vintage vibe to a lot of weddings this year, sort of like a 1920’s look about them,” she says. Other popular choices include vibrant purple or teal colour schemes, giant candelabras and mammoth martini glass-centrepieces filled with LED lights or floating butterflies. And Anderson’s super budget-conscious biz means brides needn’t fret about being unable to afford her style.
